  On absence from blogging
Last time I sat down to write a blogpost was May 1st. I was due to regale you with stories of May Days gone by, then my phone rang. It was my middle sister, Christine, telling me my eldest sister, Maureen, had died, suddenly and without explanation at the age of just 55. I immediately rang my youngest sister, Julie, to make sure she knew to be given the news that my father had suffered a minor stroke the previous day and now has limited vision.

Life sure does have a way of biting you on the arse sometimes.

Mo was always one for a party. She loved to organise them, and she loved to be the hostess with the mostest. And she was.

Her funeral was a celebration of that, and my lasting memory of the day will be the way my neice, Jenny, was so brave and how she did her mum so very proud. It was a great send off.

Mo loved Motown, and in her eulogy Jenny asked us to think of Mo the next time you hear a Motown track. She also mentioned how her mum had taught her how to jive, and asked the congregation (which packed the church) to have 'a little dance' the next time you hear a Motown track no matter who is watching. I know I will, and I think everyone should and use that 'little dance' time to remember those you have loved and lost.

We moved on to the crematorium (even more people), and as the curtains closed one of Mo's favourite tracks (Brown Eyed Girl) struck up. I had held it together up until then but I blubbed and I will remember Mo every time I hear this track. God has a great party organiser and we down here have a void we must fill.

RIP Mo, I'll miss you. x

Listen to My Girl and have a little dance.

Comments:
Really sorry to hear that Mr P. My condolences.

Oh, I am so sorry.

Thinking of you and your family
